Form 1099
A family of forms reporting income you received that isn't on a W-2. There are many types: 1099-NEC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-K, 1099-DA.
Full explanation
The 1099 series includes over a dozen variants, each reporting a different type of income: 1099-NEC (freelance/contractor pay), 1099-INT (bank interest), 1099-DIV (dividends), 1099-B (investment sales), 1099-K (payment platform transactions), 1099-DA (crypto transactions), 1099-R (retirement distributions), 1099-G (government payments/refunds), and others. If you receive a 1099, the IRS received a copy too — they'll notice if you don't report it.
